TVR Grantura MK3 1800 - 76PRT

This is Ivan’s TVR Grantura MK3, 76PRT. It is one of the earliest 1800 MGB engine Grantura MK3s, it was purchased from the Earls Court Sportscar Show by an RAF pilot and first registered in May 1963.
Ivan bought it in 2015 as an upgrade from his MGB race car and it was sympathetically converted for racing. The old, rusty, chassis has since been replaced with one of our own lightweight rolling chassis. A new bolt on floor has been bonded to the original shell and an FIA roll cage fitted.
The car has been running to FIA specifications with the homologated Derrington Crossflow head, 3 synchro straight cut close ratio gearbox and magnesium Minilite style wheels.
The chassis, wishbones, steering rack, anti-roll bar, shocks and springs were subject to vehicle dynamics analysis. With this data we were able redesign and engineer where necessary so that all of the components work together far more efficiently. The remarkable response and effortless handling of the chassis makes 76 PRT a front running car, capable of out-performing more exotic machinery as well as being incredibly fun to drive!
Ivan has won seven class podiums within Equipe Libre, Equipe GTS, Ecurie GTS and Bentley Drivers Club Series and the overall class three win in 2022 with Equipe Libre.
76 PRT was not raced in 2023 but has been driven in road specification this summer covering 300 miles or so.
We now intend to offer this very original car in race specification with new FIA papers.
